Frequently Asked Questions

At AnywhereOxygen, we’re dedicated to helping you breathe easy with reliable, FAA-approved portable oxygen concentrators. Find answers to common questions below. For further assistance, contact our team at info@anywhereoxygen.com or 716-306-2082.

  1. Do I need a prescription to buy a portable oxygen concentrator? Yes, a valid prescription from a healthcare provider is required to purchase a portable oxygen concentrator, as they are FDA Class II medical devices. Our team will guide you through the process after your order.

  2. How do I submit a prescription for my oxygen concentrator? Once your order is placed, you’ll receive an email with prescription submission instructions, and a member of our team will reach out to help you complete it.

  3. What happens if I can't provide a valid prescription? A valid prescription is required before your POC ships. If you cannot provide one, 5% of your order total will be retained to cover payment processing costs on both the original charge and the refund. This fee applies universally. The easiest way to avoid this: book a free consultation. We’ll walk you through exactly what to request from your doctor’s office so your prescription is ready to go.

  4. Can AnywhereOxygen help me get my prescription? Prescriptions stay between you and your doctor, so we can’t write or obtain one for you. What we do: during your free consultation we’ll tell you exactly what to ask your doctor’s office for, and once you have your prescription we handle verification and every detail before your order ships. Most customers find one call to their doctor’s office is all it takes.

  5. Do you take Medicare or insurance? Wondering if Medicare or insurance will cover this? Here’s the honest answer: we’re a cash-pay store. We don’t bill Medicare or private insurance, and that’s a deliberate choice. Medicare typically covers home oxygen as a rental. You get a model from an approved list on a long-term agreement, and you never own the machine. Buying cash-pay flips that: you pick the exact concentrator that fits your prescription and your life, you own it outright, and it ships within days of your prescription being verified. Many customers pay with HSA or FSA funds, and we’re happy to provide an itemized receipt you can submit to your insurer to ask about out-of-network reimbursement. Whether they reimburse is up to your plan. Not sure which route makes sense for your situation? Book a free consultation and we’ll talk it through, no pressure.

  7. How do I choose the right oxygen concentrator for my needs? Book a free consultation via our Appointments page. Our experts will help you find the perfect solution tailored to your lifestyle and medical requirements.

  8. Can I take my portable oxygen concentrator on a plane? Yes. Every concentrator we sell is FAA-compliant for commercial flights. Airlines generally ask for advance notice and enough battery for 150% of your flight time, so pack spare batteries in your carry-on. Rules vary by airline, so check yours before you fly, or call us at (716) 306-2082 and we’ll walk you through it.

  9. Can I return my oxygen concentrator if it’s not right for me? If it’s still factory-sealed, yes. Unopened units can be returned within 15 days of delivery for a refund, minus a 5% processing fee. You arrange and pay for insured return shipping. Once the seal is broken we can’t resell a medical device as new, so opened units can’t be returned. Defects are covered by the factory warranty. Full details on our Policies page.

  10. How long does shipping take? Orders are processed within 1–2 business days. Standard shipping takes 3–7 business days. You'll receive tracking details via email once shipped.

  11. Do you offer free shipping? Free standard shipping is available on orders over $99.00. Check our website or Shipping Policy for current promotions and eligibility.

  12. Do you offer extended warranties on portable oxygen concentrators? Yes, certain manufacturers offer extended warranties on their home and portable units. View available extended warranties for oxygen concentrators at checkout or contact us for details.

  13. How do I maintain or clean my portable oxygen concentrator? Each model includes a user manual with maintenance instructions. Typically, clean the exterior with a damp cloth and replace filters as recommended. Contact us for specific guidance.
